??????????? การติดเชื้อไวรัสตับอักเสบบีเรื้อรังเป็นภาวะที่พบได้มากในทุกประเทศทั่วโลก ในทวีปเอเซียมีประชากรที่ติดเชื้อไวรัสตับอักเสบบีเรื้อรังถึงร้อยละ 8-101,2ซึ่งร้อยละ 50 ของผู้ติดเชื้อที่รายใหม่เป็นการติดเชื้อที่ผ่านจากมารดาไปทารก3 ในช่วงก่อนที่จะมีการให้วัคซีนช่วยป้องกันการติดเชื้อไวรัสตับอักเสบบี อัตราการติดเชื้อจากมารดาสู่ทารกสูงถึงร้อยละ 70-90 ในมารดาที่มี HBS Ag และ HBe Ag เป็นบวก4 แต่เมื่อมีการให้ Hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) และ Hepatitis B vaccine อัตราการติดเชื้อลดลงเหลือร้อยละ 5-105 ?
